Summer Canoe Trip on the Missouri River: Paddle the Wild and Scenic Upper Missouri and uncover layers of history. Most notably, the cross-continental journey of Lewis & Clark. Stephen Ambrose’s book, Undaunted Courage, has inspired many to paddle this section of the Missouri River also known as The White Cliffs. You’ll camp where they camped, see what they saw and learn about their trip from our experienced guides. For any river traveler, this trip offers a very accessible route of discovery: geology, wildlife, Native American culture, early explorers and the pioneers that followed. Case of Wine in Honor of Sue and John Talbot: John Talbot’s steady leadership on the board helped guide Five Valleys through formative years and into an era where Five Valleys has become a valued community institution. For many years Sue and John donated a case of wine to our Banquet, and our board has decided to continue this tradition forward with a case of wines hand selected by Missoula Wine Merchants. For this year‘s auction, we have selected an amazing group of fantastically paired wines throughout the United States and Europe. The wines were selected from some of the most renowned and dynamic wine regions: Burgundy, Champagne, Rioja, California, theLoire, and Umbria. Two wines were selected from each area that represent some of the finest producers and varietals of each region. Some of the producers, such as Silver Oak and Chateau Montelena, are well known, while others such as Paolo Bea of Umbria, Italy, have impressive cult followings but such small production that the wines are usually sold out almost instantly.
