For me conservation is not about preserving the past, but preparing for the future. Our July tour at the Rock Creek Confluence to celebrate Montana Open Land Month with Governor Bullock focused on that future. Educators of small children, college, and university students talked about the benefits this property creates as an accessible outdoor classroom. Meanwhile, our recently installed wildlife cameras show that young humans aren't the only ones benefiting from these conserved lands. Across western Montana Five Valleys is literally and figuratively bringing together more diverse interests than ever to accopmlish conservation for future generations.
