International Seminar on Protected Area Management

Yesterday our Lands Director, Pelah Hoyt, and Stewardship Director, Ryan Chapin, were invited to present as a part of the 2016 International Seminar on Protected Area Management.  Hosted by the University of Montana, the seminar draws land planning and management professionals from around the globe to brainstorm and learn about conservation strategies, focusing on the policies that protect and sustain not only the land, but the people on it.

The seminar group was brought out to the Iverson Ranch in Potomac, which is owned by Five Valleys conservation easement landowner Denny Iverson and his family.  Denny also presented to the attendees, speaking about the conservation projects the Iverson Ranch has engaged in, both past and present.  Five Valleys is excited to be a partner with this unique, international effort to improve conservation practices.
