Thanks to our supporters, project partners and the efforts of dozens of individuals, Five Valley's exciting Mount Dean Stone project continues to make progress. At our May 20th Banquet, our community came together to raise a record-breaking $215,000 for our efforts on Mount Dean Stone, helping us to connect north facing South Hills Spur with the 2,500-acre The Nature Conservancy parcel that spans the southeastern flanks of the mountain.
Public access to Spur, which was transferred to the City of Missoula in December, is in progress. And thanks to our partners at MTB Missoula, trail building has already broken ground.
Thanks to the efforts of our two community committees, our natural resources committee and recreation committee, planning is underway to determine where trails should run and which corridors would be better left to wildlife.
