Soil Health Workshop Series

Five Valleys and our partners Farm Connect Montana, Montana State University Extension, the Missoula Conservation District, and the Montana USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service are excited to be joining forces to bring our community a three-part soil health workshop series.

These FREE, monthly workshops are geared towards farmers, ranchers, land stewards, and gardners and will share practical knowlege and techniques for building healthy, productive soils. Mark your calendar! The workshops will be in-person, starting in March:

March 6th: Soils 101

Dig into the essentials of soil health and ecological stewardship with Patrick Mangan of MSU Extension. Learn more about the complex world beneath your feet, and how we can take steps to help it thrive.

When: Thursday, March 6th; 5:30pm-7:00pm

Where: Balsamroot Conference Room, G.W. Marks Exploration Center, 1075 South Avenue W, Missoula (map)

Registration: Registration is not required for this intro session. Please bring your enthusiasm for healthy soils and materials to take notes.

April 3: Capstone Presentation and Presentation Panel

Celebrate national Soil Health Week with a presentation by Dr. Tony Hartshorn of Montana State University and an engaging Producer Panel. More details coming soon.

May 1: Soil Health and Tool Expo

The wrap up session will share about the tools and equipment you need to build healthy soils. This event will be hosted by Farm Connect Montana. More details coming soon.
