We are improving the main (west side) parking lot at the Rock Creek Confluence! While this work is underway over the next few weeks, the parking lot may be inaccessible or closed. Thank you to Dick Anderson Construction for helping us complete this work! We will provide an update when the parking lot reopens.
If you haven't ever explored the east side of the Confluence, now is the perfect time! The east side of the Confluence offers a casual stroll along the Clark Fork River. It is also the site of our annual UM Bird Ecology Lab Bird Banding Station, which has public banding days!
To get to the east side trailhead, take the first left on Lazy Water Way after crossing the river. The trailhead is just a hop and a skip from there, at the bottom of the hill. Please see the map below, which notes the East Side Trailhead and the currently closed West Side Trailhead.
This work is a part of our larger Confluence Gateway Initiative that is remaking the Confluence into a community open space that is welcoming and accessible to all. Learn more about the Confluence Gateway Initiative.
Happy exploring!
